Father Jason Gries

I was born and raised in on the deep Westside of Evansville. I attended St. Joseph parish and school in Vanderburgh County. I went through F. J. Reitz High School, hoping to do further education in medicine, and graduated in 1996. I spent my freshman year of college at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, still hoping to pursue a career in medicine. In the middle of my freshman year I decided that I would give seminary a shot. My sophomore year I transferred to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where I studied at St. John Vianney College Seminary. I graduated in 2000 and went to Saint Meinrad School of Theology. I graduated from there in 2004 and was ordained a priest on June 5, 2004. I have served at Holy Redeemer parish, St. John the Baptist in Newburgh and am currently the pastor of Sacred Heart parish in Vincennes and St. Philip Neri in Bicknell. I also work as associate director of vocations for the Diocese of Evansville.
